Study title: Investigating clinicians’ knowledge of CVI, RVI and the support available to patients with vision impairment.

Purpose of the study

The purpose of this research study aims to explore optometrists, dispensing opticians, ophthalmologists, ELCOs, low vision practitioners and GPs understanding of the benefits and services available to patients who have been certified as severely sight impaired/sight impaired and where these clinicians would signpost these patients for further support and information. We also want to explore awareness of Charles Bonnet Syndrome. You have been invited because you are a practising clinician.

Who is the researcher?

The study will be supervised by Professor Shahina Pardhan from the Vision and Eye Research Institute at Anglia Ruskin University. Dr Emily Charlesworth is an optometrist and post-doctoral research fellow at Anglia Ruskin University. 

Do I have to take part?

Completing and returning the questionnaire is entirely voluntary. The questionnaire should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. 

Has the study got ethical approval?

This study has ethical approval from School Research Ethics Panel (SREP) ethics committee at Anglia Ruskin University.
